New Baby Welcome Service
Temple Sinai welcomes new babies and their families to our Temple Sinai congregation with a special service. The service honors the newest members of our Temple Sinai congregation for children who were born between January and December of the previous year. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Temple Sinai community to allow young families to get to know each other and honor families and mingle while enjoying a bite to eat.
Parents, grandparents, siblings and extended family members are invited to attend this special 15 minute service. Rabbi Rick Rheins, Rabbi Susan Miller Rheins and Cantor Nesis lead families of these newborns in song and prayer creating a joyous and welcoming atmosphere for the approximately 50 people that come to show their to show their support. Each family stands on the bimah and is given a program that includes the child’s name. Each newborn is given a pink or blue tzdakah (charity) box to cherish. At the conclusion of the service, there is a group photo taken on the bimah.
Following the service, Temple Sinai hosts a Shabbat Dinner with the Congregation at no charge. This celebration creates a time for all the families to get to know each other and develop friendships as they continue their Jewish life together through activities at Temple Sinai.
Each family will be sent an invitation in the mail by early February. Please contact Lisa Thorner at 303.759.1827 or firstname.lastname@example.org to make sure to be included in this wonderful event. Let’s take the time to honor the newest temple members in high style with a lovely service and brunch. What better way to start their Jewish life then to honor these new babies and their families at a wonderful service…
