The KEVA Program Has Come to Sinai!
As of January 1, 2007, Temple Sinai has become part of the KEVA program, sponsored by the Department of Lifelong Jewish Learning of the Union of Reform Judaism. If you wish to take part in this program, you will earn one point for each hour of adult education you take (including Sinai Sundays, Monday evening adult education, Torah Study, adult B’nai Mitzvah, and for URJ-sponsored kallot, Judaic Studies on a college level, Melton classes, and educational travel to Jewish communities and historic sites, etc.).
KEVA “logs” will be made available at all the Temple Sinai Adult Education events. Participants will need to keep track of their own KEVA hours. Upon reaching 100 points, the log will be turned in to the temple. You will then receive a beautiful KEVA Certificate of Recognition from URJ and be eligible for a six-session class with Rabbi Rheins that leads to Adult Confirmation. When 10% of our adult members earn KEVA Certificates, Temple Sinai will receive the Talmud Torah Citation. Information about where to send your completed logs will be forthcoming.
