The Torah Project:  Overview

Thanks to the generosity of Marshall and Helene Abrahams, Temple Sinai commissioned Rabbi Moshe Druin, a Sofer (Torah scribe) to write a new Torah for Temple Sinai.  In addition to obtaining a new Torah, we conducted a year-long project, Celebrating Love of Torah, filled with educational and spiritual opportunities for every age.  Through this year-long sacred journey, we celebrated the traditions carried down for generations.

Thousands of Temple Sinai members helped write our new Torah, either through filling in a letter or through making dedications to sponsor parts of the new Torah.        

Through our participation, we made a powerful statement of our love of our Jewish faith.  Through our sponsorship of a portion of our Torah, we performed the 613th mitzvah and contributed to the ongoing strength of our congregation.
