Make a Donation

Please consider making a donation to support Temple Sinai's 2020 Matching Campaign:  The Max and Elaine Appel Matching Gift. We thank you for your generous support.

Halfway to reaching our matching gift donated by Max and Elaine Appel

In just three months, Temple Sinai is halfway to reaching our matching gift donated by Max and Elaine Appel in response to Covid-19. The Appel’s will donate dollar-for-dollar, up to $200,000. As of October 9, Temple Sinai has raised nearly $106,000 in individual donations thanks to all of you. Ultimately, our goal is to raise a total of $500,000 by Purim which is February 26, 2021. To achieve this goal, we aim to raise an additional $100,000 beyond the matched donations, so please continue to donate. We are so appreciative of every gift we receive. Your donation has made such an impact in our ability to sustain on-going programming, educational and worship opportunities and compensating our hard-working staff.

We are in an unprecedented time that demands an unprecedented response. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has left Temple Sinai in need of financial relief. Many of our members have lost jobs and have seen their incomes shrink leaving them no choice but to reduce their dues and contributions. Temple Sinai is so fortunate to have longtime members Max and Elaine Appel generously pledge a matching gift to help the congregation navigate through the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Please make a donation now to double your support and increase your impact! This will allow us to reap the benefits of Max and Elaine’s extraordinary generosity.

Temple Sinai Matching Gift From Max And Elaine Appel

Because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, there has been a terrible shortfall in Temple Sinai’s finances. Revenue from our Preschool has been drastically reduced. Many of our members have lost jobs and have seen their incomes shrink leaving them no choice but to reduce their dues and contributions. The pressures have already caused us to lose valuable staff and there is no telling when the pandemic will be over.

Our goal as a congregation is to raise a total of $500,000 to address the revenue shortfall.

Temple Sinai is so fortunate to have longtime members Max and Elaine Appel generously pledge a matching gift of $200,000 to help the congregation navigate through the Covid-19 Pandemic. With the Appel’s gift, all donations up to $200,000 will be doubled.

From the beginning of this pandemic, we were astounded by the outpouring of generosity from our Temple Sinai community. We have been blessed with so many donors, large and small. To raise the funds and reap the full benefit of the Appel’s extraordinary generosity, we need your gifts and your participation.

Your contribution will help support the work of our Clergy, Staff, Religious School, and Preschool. Tzedakah always plays a critical role in supporting those in need, but that role is even more critical right now. Once again, thank you for your meaningful support.

B’vrakhah,

Bob Steine, President
Rabbi Richard S. Rheins, Senior Rabbi
