Religious School Registration
Religious School Registration
Temple Sinai Religious School strives to provide our students a meaningful educational, social, and spiritual experience where all learners create lifelong, joyous Jewish memories. Our program offers classes for Kindergarten through 10th grade students.
Classes will meet on the following days:
*Students in grades 4-6 participate in our Hebrew program on Wednesday evenings or Sunday morning.
Hebrew Program
It is our goal that every child who attends Temple Sinai Religious School and participates in our Hebrew program will be able to decode Hebrew (putting together words and sounds fluidly). Our Hebrew curriculum is based around the siddur, meaning that students will be able to decode and chant prayers and understand the general meaning of the prayer and where it came from. They will also study holiday-specific prayers such as the Hanukkah blessings and the Four Questions. Students will put their learning into action through weekly Tefillah (prayer).
We begin teaching Hebrew in Kindergarten, with students participating in Hebrew Through Movement, which helps them get used to hearing Hebrew words and associating words with body movements. Our formal Hebrew program begins in 4th grade. Students learn their letters and the basics of decoding, and in 5th grade and beyond apply those skills to the siddur.
